TOP Reflexology method

Targeted Reflexology for Tension and Discomfort

A few years ago I took this additional reflexology course that created by Mauricio Kruchik and known as TOP (his acronym for Treatment of Pain).

Originally developed as an approach to support clients experiencing mainly muscular discomfort, the TOP method focuses on specific reflexology techniques. Below is an explanation of the special way of performing this reflexology sequence.

This tailored reflexology session focuses on supporting areas of muscular tension and promoting a sense of ease and relaxation in the body.

A typical one-hour session involves exploring areas of tension through very specific techniques designed to stimulate reflex points and encourage a sense of release and balance. In the testimonials sections you will find out what some clients report.

To deepen the effects of your treatment, I may suggest a supplementary 15-minute "Reflexology in Motion" session. This gentle, movement-based approach may include the use of props such as ice packs, soft weights, or balls, combined with movement and reflex work.

Reflexology with Ice

This technique involves gently applying an ice pack to specific foot reflex points before stimulating them. This cooling approach is designed to enhance the sensory experience and may support a deeper sense of relief and relaxation.

Some clients choose this method when experiencing areas of physical tension or discomfort, and have found it to be a helpful part of their overall self-care routine.

What You Might Experience

Many clients report feeling more relaxed, more mobile, and more comfortable following a session.

Clients have chosen this approach during times when they’ve been dealing with:

  • General tension in the spine, neck, back or hips

  • Feelings of muscular stiffness or reduced mobility

  • Low mood, fatigue, or hormonal changes

  • Periods of stress, overwhelm, or sensory imbalance

Reflexology is a deeply calming, holistic therapy, and its effects are often felt beyond just the physical. It can be a gentle way to support your wellbeing, especially during times of physical or emotional strain.

Using gentle movement while working on specific foot reflexes may enhance the overall experience and allow for a deeper sense of release and relaxation.

I have also undertaken additional training in reflexology approaches that are often used to support clients living with a variety of chronic health conditions, including autoimmune-related issues.

Clients living with chronic or autoimmune-related conditions often seek reflexology as part of their overall wellbeing support. Some of the conditions clients have shared they are managing include:

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

  • Crohn’s Disease

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Ulcerative Colitis

  • Lupus

  • Bell’s Palsy
